Pearl Lee Barbee was born on February 5, 1923 to the late Monroe and Suella Barbee. And departed this life on June 2, 2022 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. 

Pearl attended the Wake County Public School System until she was old enough to work and help her family. Pearl was a care provider for many years taking care of family and friends before she became a housekeeper for some of the most powerful people in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and she loved every minute of it. Pearl was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She encountered a lot of people and when she did everyone loved mama Pearl.

Mama Pearl was proceeded in death by her parents, Monroe and Suella Barbee. Three sisters, Grace, Mary and Edith Barbee. One daughter, Margaret Moses and one nephew Arthur Barbee.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Danny Barbee (Judy) of the home. Two grandsons, David Barbee (Lisa) and Danny Barbee, Jr. one granddaughter, Taneshia Barbee (Ron). One niece, Toni Barbee. Three great-grandchildren, Antonio Barbee, Artez Pass, Ali Pass. One great-great grandson, King Barbee and two great-great granddaughters, Aaliyah Pass and Janiya Barbee. And many other relatives and friends.
