Clara Sue Brooks

Ms. Clara Sue Brooks age 93 was born November 1, 1927 to the late Clay Brooks and Lola Siler Brooks. She transitioned to her heavenly home, Thursday, February 4, 2021, at The Laurels of Chatham, Pittsboro, NC.

Clara was raised in Siler City and attended Chatham County Training School, Siler City, NC. She joined Corinth AME Zion Church, at an early age then later transferred to Jordan Grove AME Zion Church. She was a faithful and devoted member. She attended Sunday school, member of the Usher Board and other organizations.

Clara had a passion of singing spiritual songs all day at home. She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center. She participated in daily activities of the Laurels and sang in the Laurel’s choir. She was friendly to everyone she met.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, 14 siblings, and a granddaughter, Belinda Perkins.

She leaves to cherish two daughters; Madeline Perkins, Philadelphia, PA, Patricia Peoples, Siler City, NC, niece; Margie Foushee her caretaker of the home. One sister; Swannie Durant, Siler city. Three grandchildren; Montrell (Deborah), Christopher Perkins, April Schnell. 14 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren of Philadelphia, PA. Several nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
